November 7th – 14, 2009

This fall Angela Ritchie Ace Camps is thrilled to announce a week of adventure, culture and education with Suzanne Northcott in the southern Baja, Mexico. Join us for an art travel workshop near the charming and artistic town of Todos Santos, located one hour from Cabo San Lucas, on the west coast of the Baja Peninsula.

“Mainlining the Muse”Picture074

Suzanne has designed this workshop to make best use of the stunning surroundings and creative atmosphere of Todos Santos.   As her greatest pleasure is to work with students to help realize their own vision for their work, Suzanne’s emphasis will be on personal development and individual attention to each student working in their chosen medium. Technical questions that come up for around composition, materials handling, colour and other challenges will be addressed as they arise and students will be encouraged to take chances and reap the rewards. We will stoke the creative fires and respond to the beautiful environment, letting the boundaries between work and play become porous.

Suzanne Northcott is a painter, teacher and kitchen table philosopher. She follows her restless muse to the shifting place where one thing becomes another, studying dreams and meditation and themes of transformation, decay, metamorphosis and migration. Her interest in the “space between” also manifests in her continuing history of collaborative work with poets, scientists and artists in other genres. In this talk Northcott will speak about the challenges and rewards of following the mapless terrain of the creative life.  http://www.suzannenorthcott.ca/
