Aging young

A 92-year-old, petite, well poised and proud lady, is fully dressed each morning by eight o’clock, with her hair fashionably coifed and makeup perfectly applied, even though she is legally blind.
Recently she moved to a nursing home. Her husband of 70 years had passed away, making the move necessary.
After many hours of waiting patiently in the lobby of the nursing home, she smiled sweetly when told her room was ready. As she maneuvered her walker to the elevator, she was provided a visual description of her tiny room, including the eyelet sheets that had been hung on her window.
“I love it,” she stated with the enthusiasm of an eight-year-old having just been presented with a new puppy.
“Mrs. Jones, you haven’t seen the room …. just wait.”
“That doesn’t have anything to do with it,” she replied.
“Happiness is something you decide on ahead of time.”

Aging young

Throw out non-essential numbers

This includes age, weight and height.
Keep only cheerful friends
The grouches pull you down.
Keep learning
Learn more about the computer, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle.
Enjoy the simple things
Like walking barefoot in the grass.
Laugh often, long and loud
Laugh until you gasp for breath.
Tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on.
The only person who is with us our entire life is ourself.
Be ALIVE while you are alive
To be seventy years young is sometimes far morecheerful and hopeful than to be forty years old.– Oliver Wendell Holmes
Surround yourself with what you love
Remove the clutter.
Cherish your health
If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

Tell the people you love that you love them

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take.
